The Beth Fowler Dance Company is Celebrating its 25th Anniversary this 2018-2019 Season! This season the Company will celebrate by bringing 3 full-length theatre productions to the stage including, “The Nutcracker” in December of 2018, “Cinderella” March of 2019 and “Dancing Thru the Decades” June of 2019!
Beth Fowler started the Beth Fowler School of Dance in 1983 at the age of 15. In 1990 the BFSD presented their first Ballet, “The Wizard of Oz” then in 1991 the School of Dance presented “Cinderella” for the first time both shows held at the Genoa-Kingston High School. The dance performances quickly became more elaborate so in 1992 the BFSD started performing at the Egyptian Theatre in Dekalb with the Ballet “Sleeping Beauty.”
After running the school of dance for 10 years, the dancers developed into professional level dancers, so Beth Fowler decided to start the Beth Fowler Dance Company. It was in 1994 that the Dance Company first took the stage with their first full-length Ballet “The Nutcracker.” Now the Beth Fowler Dance Company has over 11 rotating full-length theatre productions featuring the Company Dancers in the main roles while dancers from the Beth Fowler School of Dance perform the supporting children’s roles.
